Senate Intel Chairman Burr Says Russia Probe to Extend Deep Into 2019
Senator Richard Burr (R-NC)
Chairman of the Senate Intel Committee, Richard Burr said in a Bloomberg interview released Friday that the Committee’s Russia probe to extend deep into 2019.
How many more years are the worthless, corrupt lawmakers going to waste investigating the Russia hoax?
Burr said the panel could take as long as “six months” after completing all its interviews to craft and declassify a final report. And the committee hasn’t yet finished meeting with witnesses, as they keep running down leads in the investigation.
But don’t expect much visible progress in the coming months. Burr remains dug in against Democratic Senator Mark Warner’s push for public hearings with key figures like Donald Trump Jr. and Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen.
“I don’t see the need for public hearings,” Burr said in an interview. “I don’t see that happening.”
Burr’s statement to Bloomberg this week is a drastic change from what he said in September.
The North Carolina Senator said in September that he expected the Senate Intel Panel to wrap up its Russia investigation by the end of the year.
Burr, no ally of the President said in September in a FOX News interview that 19 months into the investigation and he has seen no evidence that Donald Trump colluded with the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election.
“Maybe we find something in the next several interviews that are evidence of collusion. I don’t think so with what we’ve seen,” Burr said.
“I can say as it relates to the Senate Intelligence Committee investigation that we have no hard evidence of collusion,” Burr continued.
The US government is only good at one thing–wasting taxpayer money on illegal aliens and the Russian collusion hoax.
