Today Show Either Doesn’t Do Their Homework or Intentionally Ran Cover for Fraud Nathan Phillips
One day after a ridiculous interview on the Today Show in which Savannah Guthrie asked leading questions trying to shame Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann, she is back with an even more absurd interview with his antagonist, far-left activist Nathan Phillips.
During the interview with Phillips, Guthrie asserted, “some have said you’re a Vietnam vet — I don’t believe you have said that.” Guthrie either didn’t do her homework or was intentionally misleading to run cover for the activist. This is why nobody trusts the mainstream media.
Whether misleading the public was intentional or not, it is clear that she cannot be trusted as an unbiased or intelligent interviewer.
“Some have said you’re a Vietnam vet — I don’t believe you have said that,” @SavannahGuthrie… did you do any homework at all before this interview? I realize you’re the same person who victim blamed a child for wearing a hat, but come on now.

Though it has been repeatedly proven that Phillips has indeed claimed to be a Vietnam veteran — not a Vietnam times veteran — ANOTHER new video resurfaced the evening before his interview where he undeniably steals valor.
🚨Nathan Phillips, January 3, 2018🚨
"I'm a Vietnam Vet. I served in Marine Corps 72 to 76. I got discharged May 5, 1976. I got honorable discharge and one of the boxes shows peacetime or, what my box says is that I was **in theater**. I don't talk much about my Vietnam times." pic.twitter.com/nIoYxGoPqM

On Tuesday, The Washington Post and a slew of other outlets had to issue more retractions after falsely claiming that Phillips served in the Vietnam War. He didn’t — but this lie was previously used to help raise money for a documentary about his life.
The supportive media have also been stealth editing articles to change the wording from him claiming that he was a Vietnam veteran to a “Vietnam era” veteran.
You wrote the article yourself and now you went back and editted it. This is what it said before. Now it reads this. Why did you go back and edit the article? pic.twitter.com/0fiDNvHlYF

Yes absolutely I did edit it to reflect the fact that when I wrote this article ten years ago, I misunderstood the situation in which he was spit on.
I changed it after receiving an email alerting me – this is why the article reflects "edited" I am not trying to hide this fact.

Retired US Navy SEAL Don Shipley, who is known for publicly outing people for ‘stolen valor,’ obtained Phillips’ DD-214 form and exposed the truth.
Phillips originally claimed he was a Recon Ranger — there is no such thing as a Marine Recon Ranger, Rangers are in the Army. He was enlisted under the name Nathaniel Richard Stanard.
“Nathaniel Phillips enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves on May 20th, 1972 and served until May 5th, 1976,” Don Shipley said as he read the DD-214 form. “He served under just four years and was discharged at the exalted rank of ‘Private.’”
Phillips went AWOL THREE TIMES while he was stationed at El Toro Marine Base in Southern California, according to his DD-214 form.
We won’t hold our breath for the Today Show to air the latest video and correct their errors.
